Our Story

My name is William J. Chapron

Growing up in the French countryside, my childhood playground was the forest. It was there, with my group of friends, that we built wooden cabins, crafted swords, and fashioned bows to play as soldiers. Knives were an essential part of our adventures—every kid had one. They were more than just tools; they were companions that gave us a sense of independence and confidence.

My grandfather gave me my first knife at the age of 7, sparking a lifelong fascination. Since then, I’ve carefully curated a collection of both folding and fixed-blade knives, each with its own story and purpose. As I grew older, my passion for knives deepened, especially as I embraced hunting. These tools have become more than just objects—they’re trusted companions that remind me of the freedom, creativity, and confidence I felt as a child exploring the woods. That early gift from my grandfather ignited a passion that has stayed with me ever since.

After a fulfilling career as an executive in the fine sheet metal industry and later as the owner of a food processing company, I entered retirement with a clear calling: my lifelong passion for knives inspired me to embark on a new adventure—crafting them myself.

My background as a mechanical fitter, which began during my technical high school years, provided me with the foundational skills needed to create one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect my personal taste and inspiration. To me, a knife is more than just a tool; it’s a piece of functional art, akin to jewelry. Yet, it must also excel in its primary purpose: to cut effortlessly and endure the test of time. A well-crafted knife should be indestructible, a timeless heirloom that can be passed down through generations.
